Skatepark Pictures or any other information on your local skatepark.
And now a little background on skateparks. The first skateparks were primarily private, for-profit endeavors, although several public parks were built globally. Parks then included pools, bowls, snake runs, freestyle areas, banked slalom areas, half-pipes, and full pipes. Most were concrete and were outdoors. In more extreme climates parks were built indoors, often of wood.
The modern public skatepark is relatively new, made possible by legislation such as California's 1998 law stating that skateboarding is an inherently "Hazardous Recreational Activity" (HRA), and therefore municipalities and their employees may not be held liable for claims of negligence resulting in skateboarders' injuries. Parks are usually for persons 14 or over.
The Tony Hawk Foundation is at the forefront of helping cities to get skateparks built. The Tony Hawk Foundation seeks to foster lasting improvements in society, with an emphasis on supporting and empowering youth. Through special events, grants, and technical assistance, the Foundation supports recreational programs with a focus on the creation of public skateboard parks in low-income communities. The Foundation favors programs that clearly demonstrate that funds received will produce tangible, ongoing, positive results.
First off... its an all concrete skatepark, (not really quite fit for beginners but they can handle it) and it is very addicting.. you kinda learn to love it! just to warn you though it has a crap bowl, more like a really small pool (shaped like a tear drop and is fully enclosed), other than that the park is actually really good. A local construction built it (yeah, sounds sketchy but it isn't too bad), well heres the list of what it has to offer: a 7' vert quarter (few inches or so of vert) (2) 6' regular transitioned quarter another 6' quarter with a lil less steepness than normal... a smaller 5' bowled corner (very fun) a euro one regular 4 sided wood pyramid with flat top one pyramid (concrete) with ledges on one side (goes up-flat-down) with the slope, and it also has rails going up-flat-down the pyramid in the middle (watch out the rails are kinda steep to people that don't skate it alot, but they are also super fun)and of course then the pyramid has the hips... then you got your hubbas; one small one going down a lil slop, one flat and then one going down a larger slope with about a 3 feet flat at the bottom (awesome ledges) then there is a bench (some composite material its super slick) then there are a lot of rollins, quite steep.. a lot of ppl fall going down them its quite entertaining (rollins range from like 4 foot to 6 foot) then there is a long wall ride about 6 feet kigh but about 4 feet of it is straight up and down... its great... Then there is a large slant ramp with a ledge on top of it great for stalls, and it grinds good put you'll have to pump at it quite hard... lastly there are some rails coming into the skatepark, i'll tell you right now the rails arn't all that great... nothin too special, but you can get a good session out of them well that about sums it up, i'll try to get some pics as soon as possible, so if your in the area i reccomend stoping by the skatepark!
