There are so many skateparks in the world that it is hard to keep up on all of them. Please sends us your

And now a little background on skateparks. The first skateparks were primarily private, for-profit endeavors, although several public parks were built globally. Parks then included pools, bowls, snake runs, freestyle areas, banked slalom areas, half-pipes, and full pipes. Most were concrete and were outdoors. In more extreme climates parks were built indoors, often of wood.
The modern public skatepark is relatively new, made possible by legislation such as California's 1998 law stating that skateboarding is an inherently "Hazardous Recreational Activity" (HRA), and therefore municipalities and their employees may not be held liable for claims of negligence resulting in skateboarders' injuries. Parks are usually for persons 14 or over.
The Tony Hawk Foundation is at the forefront of helping cities to get skateparks built. The Tony Hawk Foundation seeks to foster lasting improvements in society, with an emphasis on supporting and empowering youth. Through special events, grants, and technical assistance, the Foundation supports recreational programs with a focus on the creation of public skateboard parks in low-income communities. The Foundation favors programs that clearly demonstrate that funds received will produce tangible, ongoing, positive results.
XXX sports is a small skatepark with some killer ramps. All the local skateboarders and skaters go their to do what they do. Bikers go there too. In the back behind the fence their is a dirtbike course for the dirtbikers. Every now and then some big sponsor will blow in from New York or something like that. If your ever in town go there.
XXX SportsPark was designed by Barry Page and constructed by Dave Duncan, Dave Rush and Ted Crandall. With over 60 years combined experience in skateboarding, bmx and inline skating, the park is designed to be challenging and fun for all levels. Professionally constructed with treated lumber, solid framing and 12g steel, the park is built for the abuses of our sports. A monster 24'w x 11'h vert ramp with a 8' extension to spine connects to the 16'w x 6'h mini-ramp. Two pyramids with ledges are the main attractions to the street course and seperate a 44'w quarter pipe with subboxes and a 44'w bank ramp with a quarterpipe vert wall gap. A 8'w x 4'h box jump with a square and round rail complete the course. And don't forget our indoor bowl. XXX Sportspark has been featured in Transworld Skateboarding, Slap Magazine, Thrasher, Ride Magazine, BMX Business News and many other publications. Many pro athletes including Tony Hawk, Matt Hoffman and Matt Andrews have visited our park. It's all about having fun, so grab your skateboard, skates or bike and come visit us!
